"Brighton Edtech" managed to attract fundraise investment from Socratus Startup Studio

This time, "Brighton" LLC, which intends to develop a foreign language learning platform with its own program, participated in the Socrates program and signed an investment agreement. The company was jointly founded by three friends from the same university, A. Ariuntuya, O. Haliunaa, and Ts. Menungchimeg.
Humanity's busy lifestyles and the possibilities of technology are moving everything to digital. The founders of "Brighton" are working to create the "Boosterz Edtech" foreign language learning platform, a program for anyone who is busy and wants to learn a language in a short time.
Due to the traditional education system of high school, we understand that any language should be taught individually by someone and learned in an academic way. But even after learning thousands of grammars over the years, he still can't speak fluently. So they are young ladies who are successfully teaching English based on their own methods in order to have English that they can use freely rather than academic knowledge.
They have been conducting classroom training for three years after developing their curriculum. "Boosterz" edtech is not just a platform that "teaches" English, but it is a "learning" platform that calculates and integrates all factors of language learning. This is because it is a comprehensive platform with a mentor teacher and evaluation system that focuses on the results of each student, methods that compare the English language with the characteristics of the Mongolian language, and aims to create free use, eliminating the academic method of studying grammar and memorizing words.
We talked for a few moments with the founder and CEO of "Brighton" A. Ariuntuya.
With the method developed by us, even a beginner can speak English in five months
- How long has it been operating? What makes it different from other training centers?
We have been operating for more than three years. In the past, training was conducted in the classroom. Seven months ago, the "Boosterz" platform was developed and the training process was digitalized.
Most people have studied English for more than 10 years and still cannot speak it. What this means is that the teaching of English is too academic, grammar-based and step-by-step, but speaking skills are neglected. This results in the inability to speak using what you know.
Our program aims to teach, use and speak the most important rules of the English language during one course or five months. Also, people drop out and get discouraged because they can't find a way to learn the language. Therefore, the first thing we do is prepare the mind. Because English has a very different structure from Mongolian, it is taught using a method developed by them in a comparative manner.
- How much money was invested? How many years will you partner with "Socratus Start-up Studio"? What are the future goals?
Signed a two-year contract with "Socratus Start-up Studio" and received an investment valued at MNT 280 million. We will work to make our "Boosterz" platform, based on our developed methodology, a globally competitive "Complex Linguistics" platform. This means that not only Mongolians, but also citizens of other countries will be able to learn the languages of many countries.
We met with A. Munhtsog, CEO of "Socratus Studio" LLC, who has the most important influence on helping young people realize their dreams and fly with their wings, and clarified some things.
- Young people who are interested in starting a business already know about your program. How many businesses are currently participating in your program?
We are entering the 3rd year of the program. In the past, more than 300 startups have been selected to participate in the program. We have started cooperation with 10 of them.
- Today, Brighton Company is signing the investment agreement. What are the key criteria to qualify for their program?
Brighton company tested its foreign language training program and taught English to many people. In other words, the methods and programs developed by them can create value for students. Second, Brighton's goal of attracting investment was aligned with the goals of our program. Thirdly, the mindset of the founders or those who are going to manage the business, and fourthly, the investment and resources that we will invest in a start-up company are sufficient to support the realization of the goals that we set within the framework of our cooperation.
- What changes and progress have been made in the startup companies that participated in the program in the past?
All companies are growing. But the speed is relatively different. The main goal of our program is to support startups to become business systems capable of realizing their goals.
So, in order to become a business capable of realizing its goals, it is necessary to be able to correctly define its own goals, to be able to plan according to the goals, to implement what is planned, to be able to diagnose and eliminate mistakes, and to be able to create and record quality data in the company and use it for decision-making. How do you plan all this? How to diagnose? and all solutions. I mean, we assemble these solutions for startups. By following the solutions and implementing them, the process of developing the company into a system will take place. It depends on the person managing the start-up company whether to follow the solutions and implement them with quality. In this sense, a company that fully implements its solutions is experiencing rapid growth, but there are signs of laziness, inefficient spending of resources, lack of discipline, failure to fulfill obligations to investors, and complaints. It depends on the difference in the way of thinking of the person managing the business and the approach to work.
- What if the management of the start-up business is not working well? In other words, what if your investment starts pushing the business into decline?
- It's a stupid question. /laughs/ We fully believe in the solutions we implement in the program or startup company. If you implement these solutions correctly, you can reduce the drop rate to zero. If it depends on the management or if the employees are lazy and do not think, there will be a fall. Let me say it again. If you implement your system solutions exactly, you will definitely need to think and think. There are strict governance principles in business. If executive management fails, shareholders replace management. Socrates is not a financial partner. In that sense, although we are investors, we are also caregivers and supporters. In the sense of a supporter, a policy is adopted to support the person and team who founded the start-up business in managing and developing the business. If not, of course, we will approach the problem from the position of an investor.
- You are talking about turning business into a system. What is the importance of being a business system?
- Simply, if you start a business and start it, it can be understood that you will only create a business that will work without recognition. Let's take a simple example. There is a problem that your employees will take leave and your director wants to take leave. You can give them paid leave or unpaid leave. How to decide? Depending on the situation at that time, different decisions will be made for each employee and leave will be granted. But wait and see if your employee will give you paid leave or not. There will be misunderstandings and mistrust in the company. In such a case, it will be clear to everyone if the company installs a solution that allows them to take time off and day off, register in this order and take leave under these conditions. The problem will be solved without your intervention. In this way, the company's activities are interconnected and the solutions that support the implementation of the company's goals will be implemented in your company. Ours is ISO standard. The reason why investors, banking institutions, customers, and consumers trust organizations that have obtained ISO is that there are solutions that reduce the risk of malfunctions.
Our system solutions installed in companies not only meet ISO:9001 standards, but also create additional advantages. We are also conducting comparative studies with other standards. There are positive results.
